日前，据温哥华开发商 PortLiving 公司透露，由坂茂建筑事务所设计的世界上最高的混合木结构建筑设计方案已经公布。 该项目称为“阶梯公寓（Terrace House）”，位于温哥华的煤港区，并与由建筑师 Arthur Erickson 亚瑟·埃里克森设计的地标性长青大厦（Evergreen Building）相毗邻。这栋 “阶梯公寓”建筑在设计上也向其表示了敬意，它采用了三角形结构形式，使用了天然材料和丰富的绿色建筑语言。
“坂茂建筑事务所对 Arthur Erickson 亚瑟·埃里克森的作品非常敬重。能够在 Erickson埃里克森的作品旁边设计另一个建筑物对他来说是一个很好的机会，而坂茂建筑事务得到了设计这个创新项目的机会。”坂茂建筑事务所在美国的管理伙伴Dean Maltz说道。
开发商将该项目视为温哥华致力于可持续发展，前瞻性设计项目的典范，特别是在高层木结构建筑发展趋势方面。 目前，世界上最高的木结构建筑, Brock Commons也位于该市。
